Providing Vision to Change Futures (Tanzania, Africa)
Nov. 27, 2018 12:00 p.m.
Lisa Sweeney, Executive Director, & Brett Bennett, Director of Vision, of SKYGEN International Foundation, present a program entitled, “Providing Vision to Change Futures” (Tanzania, Africa). SKYGEN International Foundation, Inc. brings the power of SKYGEN USA’s innovations in technology and digital capabilities to bear on a global issue, which is an overall lack of access to healthcare. Their vision is to find cost effective ways to improve healthcare in underserved parts of the world by using emerging technologies. The Foundation works to deliver life-changing healthcare benefits to those without them due to cost and/or lack of access to care and technology. Their current initiative is to help provide prescription eyeglasses to the people of Tanzania. Worldwide, it’s estimated that there are approximately 2.5 billion people who need glasses, but in developing countries like Tanzania, there’s a critical shortage of eye doctors. With eyeglasses and the ability to see clearly, the lives of adults and children can be transformed. |

Feb. 19, 2019 5:15 p.m.
5:15 pm Social time 5:30- 6:30 Meeting 2nd reading of proposed slate of officers. topic: Located in Franklin, WI, the Conservancy for Healing and Heritage is a 36-acre parcel of land in southeastern Wisconsin that features a rare combination of ecosystems. This unique piece of land is Milwaukee County’s only kettle and glacier lake. And for the first time ever, it will be open free to the public.
We are protecting this natural habitat while creating shared spaces for comfort, inspiration, healing and education. The Nature Trails, Healing Garden, Healing Chapel in the Woods, and Kopmeier Lake are surrounded by forestland with a history leading back to the settlement of greater Milwaukee in the 19th century. The lake is flanked by a steep glacial moraine covered in mesic hardwoods. The forest floor is alive with wildflowers in the spring and mushrooms in the fall. question: According to the January issue of The Rotarian, what did Hershell “Woody” Williams of the Rotary Club of Milton, West Virginia say about fear? |
