On July 29th, Whitnall Park Rotary Club celebrated the 10th anniversary of opening the Whitnall Park Rotary Circle at Boerner Botanical Gardens.

The Rotary Circle created the following opportunities for Boerner Botanical Gardens:
·         Enabled ADA access to historic and beautiful garden collections
·         Implemented best practices for stormwater management using permeable pavers
·         Provided the Gardens with the ability to expand walkways to host the China Lights Festival which has been come an annual event
·         Created a wonderful opportunity for special remembrances with personalized engraved bricks and limestone pavers

At the 10th anniversary celebration, we were able to share the history and future of the project by having the following speakers -  Ellen Hayward (President/CEO of the Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens), Jennifer Gamez (Director of Boerner Botanical Gardens), Shirley Walczak (former Director of Boerner Botanical Gardens), and Jim Thorsen (WPRC Rotarian who was instrumental in making this project happen).
